Serves : 4-5 people
Ingredients
- Urad dal-1 cup
- Rice-3 cups
- Chana dal - 1/2 cup
- Green chillies - 7-8
- Ginger - 2 finger sized pieces
- Oil - As required for greasing tawa
Method
1) Soak the urad dal and chana dal together for about 7-8 hours. Soak the rice separately for 7-8 hours.2) Grind all the ingredients except oil into a fine paste.
3) Allow the batter to ferment for 8-9 hours or overnight. Once fermented add salt and mix well.
4) Heat the appe tawa. Grease with about a drop of oil.
5) Pour a spoonful of the batter into each compartment of the tawa. Do not overfill.
6.Let cook on low flame for 7-8 minutes or till the appe appear cooked.
7) Overturn gently and let cook till golden brown.
8) Serve with coconut chutney.
