Mutter kachori

Used a number of recipes online to make this tasty snack!

Makes: 10 kachoris

Ingredients:


For the dough:

  1. Maida - 2 cups
  2. Wheat flour - 1 cup
  3. Oil - 2 tbsp

For the filling:

  1. Green peas (Boiled in water) - 2 cups
  2. Potato (Boiled and mashed) - 1
  3. Chili powder - 1.5 tsp
  4. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  5. Amchoor powder - 1 tsp
  6. Oil - 2 tbsp
  7. Oil - for deep frying

Method

1) Knead all the ingredients for the dough into a soft dough by adding water. Add salt as per taste. Do not make the dough too hard or soft. Set the dough aside for minimum half as hour.

2) Coarsely grind the green peas.

3) Heat oil set aside for the filling. Add the chili powder, coriander powder and amchoor powder. Add salt as per taste

4) Add the green peas and mashed potato. Mix well.

5) Make a small ball of the dough. Press with your fingers into a puri sized circle. Add a tablespoon of the filling. 

7) Close from all sides so that the filling does not come out. Press very lightly with your fingers into a puri sized round again. 


8) Heat the oil set aside for deep frying and deep fry till golden brown on both sides. Drain excess oil be keeping on a tissue paper. Serve with ketchup/tamarind chutney
